And did I have a
Great big win?-
Was I
Adopted
By a millionaire?
To have these words
About my good fortune
Sounding in the air?
It was neither-
Some had
Just peeped
In to my life-
And saw
That I was
Happy, rich
And free from strife
And, in one foul swoop,
They had scooped-
Had picked up all-
My hard work
And thrown it
Out the door-
All my work
Gone, for nought,
For some to
Just think me - lucky?
But then,
I thought
About these people
And decided,
As I changed
My mind
And came to
Their defence,
That truly I am
So very lucky,
For I have
